ABOUT

A former advertising art director, he made his comic book debut in Italy with the renowned publisher Eura Editoriale. In 2005, he began collaborating with DC Comics; for their Vertigo imprint, he co-created *DMZ* with writer Brian Wood. This controversial series—depicting a hypothetical second American Civil War—achieved massive success worldwide and was adapted into a TV miniseries for HBO Max in 2022. It was his extraordinary work on *DMZ* that earned him the prestigious Gran Guinigi Award for Best Artist at Lucca Comics & Games in 2007. Following *DMZ*, he continued to work for major European and American comic book publishers, including Marvel, 2000 AD, Dark Horse, and Panini. In 2010, he co-founded Italian Job Studio, a creative collective active in television and cross-media production. Over the years, his work has been exhibited across the United States and Europe—notably at the Cité de l’Architecture in Paris as part of the *Archi & BD* exhibition, alongside masters such as Moebius, Bilal, Lorenzo Mattotti, Winsor McCay, and Frank Miller. In 2014, he collaborated with writer Victor Gischler and Boosta (of the Italian rock band Subsonica) to create and illustrate *Highway to Hell* for Italian Job Studio. Throughout his career, he has also applied his artistic and storytelling talents to brands like Ferrari and BMW Motorrad, and has worked as a character designer for film and video games. In recent years, alongside his comic book work, he has dedicated himself to contemporary and conceptual art. In 2021, he participated in the Venice Biennale, with three of his works exhibited in the Italian Pavilion.
